About Me
Born in Modesto in California’s Central Valley and splitting time living there and in Hayward in the Bay Area, I’ve been exposed to culturally rich, diverse, and inclusive communities since before I can remember. During my time in California, I had the privilege of gaining experience in community building in my hometown through volunteering for and helping host athletic youth programs and camps for economically disadvantaged families in the Stanislaus County area.
I moved to Reno in 2019 to attend college at the University of Nevada, Reno to pursue a degree in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, but felt a stronger calling to Community Health Sciences and Public Health after the COVID-19 pandemic started during the middle of my first year at the university. After joining the School of Public Health, I also joined a Greek Life organization, where I held positions in public relations, risk management, and philanthropy for veterans and the local community. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Public Health with focuses in Nutrition, Gerontology, and Policy & Administration during the winter semester of 2023 and was placed on the School of Public Health’s Dean List in the same semester. I'm currently still taking classes to obtain my certificate in Addiction Treatment Services from the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies before I pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Health with a focus in Epidemiology.
When I’m not working or going to school I like to spend as much of my free time staying active or learning new things. On my days off, you can find me at the gym, spending time with my friends and family, traveling, or taking care of my plants.
